Supplies Provided by Paint-A-Thon
Paint-A-Thon provides each team with:
- All the paint and primer a team will need for their home. (Teams will be notified in June as to when and where to pick up their paint and primer.)
- Masking tape
- Masking film for windows
- Some sizes of paint brushes and paint pads
- Sanding sponges
- Cleaning sponges
Other supplies such as caulking guns, paint buckets, paint scrapers, razor blades, putty knives, drop clothes, sandpaper, rags, sponges, and certain sizes of paint brushes, will need to be obtained by the team.
Paint-A-Thon suggests asking your employer for a donation for supplies or asking the hardware store nearest your assigned home to help with necessary supplies. Provide them with information about Paint-A-Thon, the specific home you are painting, as well as a list of the supplies you need. You'd be surprised what you can get by simply asking for help.
If teams members wish to bring their own personal supplies, please make sure everyone labels their belongings.
Equipment Rental
The following companies rent ladders, scaffolding, and other unique equipment. Be sure to let these businesses know you are working on a Paint-A-Thon house. Some stores offer special Paint-A-Thon discounts on equipment rentals.

Power Washers
Graco Inc. provides free rental of power washers to Paint-A-Thon teams to help them clean a home's exterior before painting. To find out where to pick up a power washer, contact Paint-A-Thon at (612) 721-8687, ext. 321.
Additional Help Recruiting Team Members
Paint-A-Thon offers team leaders three resources to help them recruit co-workers, friends, neighbors, and others to their team.
- An easy-to-read brochure that explains Paint-A-Thon, and gives a brief overview of what volunteers should expect. Multiple copies are available.
- A new 8-minute video that lets potential volunteers hear from past Paint-A-Thon teams and homeowners about their experiences with Paint-A-Thon.
- A presentation from Paint-A-Thon staff, complete with a question-and-answer session.

Extra Individual Volunteers
Need an extra pair of hands (or two or three)?
Each year, several people who are teamless, register to take part In the Paint-A-Thon. If you would like to have an individual volunteer join your team, please call the Paint-A-Thon office at 612-721-8687, ext. 321 and we will make that arrangements.
Once you are assigned an individual volunteer, they will become your team member. Please remember to add them to your contact list and be sure that they receive all the information necessary to participate.
